CFS CLEAR FILTER CANISTER KIT WITH ONE CARBON BLOCK CARTRIDGES Everything the position needs in one box: the clear canister, one carbon block cartridges, a sump wrench, a mounting bracket and the screws. WHAT MOST HOUSING LISTINGS LEAVE OUT Most canisters arrive empty. You order the housing, then order a cartridge, then find out you need a wrench to open it, then look for a bracket to mount it. This kit ships all four together, with a second cartridge for the next change. It is running the day it arrives rather than the week after. SEE THE CARTRIDGE WITHOUT OPENING THE HOUSING The sump is clear, so you can check flow and how far the cartridge has loaded without shutting the water off and unscrewing anything. A white carbon block browns visibly as it fills, which means you change it when it needs it rather than on a guess. WHAT IT REPLACES The cartridges replace CC-10-CA and CCI-10-CA. The canister replaces CCI-10-CLW and CCI-10-CLW12. Ports are quarter inch NPT female, which suits reverse osmosis prefilter and post filter positions, under sink taps and other low flow lines. If your plumbing is half inch or larger, you want a bigger housing rather than adapters. TAKES ANY STANDARD CARTRIDGE The sump accepts any 10 by 2.5 inch cartridge, so once the carbon blocks are spent you can run sediment, granular carbon, string wound or pleated in it depending on what your water needs. That is the advantage of a standard housing over a proprietary system: the cartridge is a commodity and you are never locked to one supplier. WHEN TO CHANGE IT About every six months on typical municipal water, sooner on a busy line. Run water through a new cartridge for a few minutes before use to clear loose carbon fines, which is normal on any new carbon filter. Compatible replacement kit. Part numbers are for reference only.
